Damn I’m Getting Old
Hi, as you probably already know my name is Ralph Jelenick and I live on Cape Cod. I shoot landscapes. I first started shooting photos in the dark ages of manual focus cameras. My first being a Nikormat with a 50mm non AI Nikon lens. Like most of us when we start shooting the images were horrible. In addition with film you had to wait a day or so to find out how bad they were, but the thing is I found out I loved photography, bad images and all. You read, you listen to other photographers and shoot thousands upon thousands of photos and it finally starts coming together. Then (at least for us old guys) along comes digital. Damn, just when I was getting used to film. Now the learning starts all over although the art, process and passion remains. Over the years I have had my work published in various magazines, done numerous art fairs, did work for Indiana University, shot a couple of album covers for a local musician, been president of the Bloomington Indiana Photography Club for two terms, had work featured in various photo competitions, did product shots for local artisans and taught photography to numerous individuals.
